Make cold storage private players-friendly
Despite the Central government’s 100% depreciation grant for cold chain investments and various schemes offered by the agriculture ministry, private players have not shown big interest in supply & cold chains management business.

Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing & Export Corporation Limited has planned to set up two more cold storage units in Hubli and Bagalkot. In this regard, the Corporation has floated tenders and are looking for responses from technically competent companies to set up the same in north Karnataka.

Viability of cold chain remains a question
The need of the cold chain industry is integration. Global Cold Chain Alliance is one organisation which is working towards this motive by bringing its member companies on a single platform and promoting trade relations between them.
